Ansel Adams Photo

I chose this picture because I really like the contrast between the mountains and the sky. I also like the contrast on the water and the reflections on the water. The mountains in the distance really show how large the lake is. The ripples on the water are also pretty cool.

Ansel Adams Bio

Ansel Adams is a black and white photographer of the famous variety. He grew up in the dunes of Golden Gate and during an aftershock from the earthquake and fire of 1906, broke his nose after falling down, distinctively marking him for life. Before attending private school, he had attended many different schools. He had problems fitting in at school because of his disfigured nose. There was also a distinct possibility that he was dyslexic. He wasn't successful in many schools he was sent to and, consequentially, was tutored at home by his father and aunt. Ultimately, he obtained a ''legitimizing diploma'' from a private school, which is probably the equivalent of finishing the 8th grade. When he was twelve he had taught himself to play the piano and read music. Soon he was taking lessons and his pursuit of music had become an alternative to school. For the next 12 years piano was Adam's primary occupation as it brought substance, discipline, and structure to his youth. After that he had become a ''keeper'' at Yosemite National Park and had obtained a box brownie camera, of which, he used a lot while on hikes and such. In 1927, he made his first fully
visualized photograph, Monolith, the Face of Half Dome. Although his transition from musician to
photographer was not instantaneous, it was rapidly shifted. Adams had two kids with his wife, Virginia Best,
whom he married in 1928. Adam's technical mastery was the stuff of legend. Adam's developed the famous and highly complex ''zone system'' of controlling and relating exposure and development.

Found Panorama

I really enjoy this panorama because of the lights from the city reflecting off the water and the deep blue color of the sky.

It's Mars. What's not to like from an alien planet.

Found Face Story

Hello, everybody. My name is Rainey Bowlen. I work 24/7 in a nice advertising job. It pays well and he people here are wonderful although, lately, I've been thinking of quitting and pursuing my dream of cheering people up after a dull, rain-filled days. I've been frowning because my brother, Walter-Vapor, and I recently go into an argument over our pots of gold and no he won't speak to me. It kind of sucks, but now I can focus on making my colors brighter and bolder. My favorite pastimes include becoming colorful after passing through prisms. It's quite nice. After being normal light for so long, it feels good to stretch out my colors. I do have a hidden talent. I have the ability to make most people happy. It's very useful for advertising. Well, that's all the time I have today as  I have to get back to work, but have a nice day.
